1. Description
This bulletin provides the procedure for front shock absorber assembly replacement.
■ Symptom/Condition
When driving at low speed or pressing down the front shock absorber assembly at a standstill,
some cee’d(ED) vehicles may experience the knocking noise emanated from the front shock
absorber assembly.
■ Cause
Contamination of cee’d(ED) front shock absorber assembly.
■ Countermeasure
Verify that the LOT. Number (production date) of front shock absorber assembly is within affected
range and replace if affected.

5. Service Procedure
■ FRONT SUSPENTION NOISE CHECKING 1. Verify that the VIN is an affected one.
2. Perform the “car shaking test”
- One person should sit in the car and another is
shaking the vehicle 10 to 15 times at front fender in vertical direction for both left and right fender sides.
Note.)
1) While testing, be sure that vehicle is in idle condition, all doors and windows are closed and audio system is off, to simulate real driving condition.
2) If a clearly audible "duk duk" noise can be heard at the driver's seat, replace only affected side with new one.
■ REPLACEING FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY
1. Replace the defective front shock absorber assembly with new one, according to cee’d 2007 workshop manual.
